Project Background

Table column selector is widely used in Adobe AdCloud platform which help user with better consume the performance data in the advertising content. However, the existing column selector cannot scale up while adding new metrics over time. A new, user friendly, capable-to-scale-up column selector needs to be designed across the platform.

Design Research

Before starting the design, I did both internal and external pattern research in order to understand the similar use cases and the general pattern landscape.

From the compare table and the matrix, I evaluated the common elements and why and how we should include in our AdCloud version.

Phases and Workflows

Based on the project timeline and product priorities, I came up with the proposed design phases and workflows. The overall developing work can be divided into 3 parts. From phase 1 to phase 3, a scalable and powerful column selector can be built on top of each version.

Interaction Design

Interactions are built around the 3 project phases, from the very basic version (phase 1) to the most powerful version (phase 3).

Design Implementatione

I started the plan creation workflow design from a creation workspace/canvas concept. Three main versions of workspace are visualized through the design iteration.
